John Duplessis, B.Sc., CRSP – President and Principal Health & Safety Consultant

John Duplessis is the President and Principal Health & Safety Consultant at Calgary Safety Consultants. He brings more than 30 years of occupational health and safety experience across high-risk and complex work environments, including oil and gas, construction, green energy, midstream operations, and industrial project work.

John supports employers with COR and SECOR preparation, OH&S management system development, safety program reviews, incident investigation processes, safety culture improvement, supervisor training, hazard assessment support, ISO 45001 alignment, and regulatory compliance planning.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University and a Diploma in HSE from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. He is a Certified Registered Safety Professional and an active member of Health and Safety Professionals Canada and the Alberta Society of Health and Safety Professionals.

John’s consulting approach focuses on building safety systems that employers can actually use. That means practical documentation, clear supervisor expectations, stronger worker engagement, and safety processes that support compliance, productivity, audit performance, and operational due diligence.

Cathy Duplessis – Vice President: Operations

Cathy Duplessis supports the day-to-day operations of Calgary Safety Consultants and helps ensure client projects move forward in an organized, responsive, and professional way.

Her background in administration, governance, legislative services, business processes, and organizational support strengthens the company’s ability to manage documentation, scheduling, communication, records, and project coordination.

Cathy’s role supports the client experience behind Calgary Safety Consultants’ consulting, training, and compliance services. By helping keep internal systems organized and client needs aligned, she supports the structure required to deliver reliable OH&S consulting across Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
